What is UnityTrip?

UnityTrip is a workforce aviation logistics platform for oil and gas, LNG, mining, and other field-heavy organisations that fly their own schedules on their own or leased aircraft — and for FIFO workforces, humanitarian and NGO deployments, and charter and marine operations. It provides self-service booking for travellers and schedule management across different travel groups, alongside commercial bookings, approvals, real-time spend visibility, expense processing, and duty of care — replacing the spreadsheets, email chains, and legacy travel tools these organisations otherwise rely on. What is workforce aviation logistics?

The discipline of moving a workforce on aircraft an organisation owns, leases or charters, alongside commercial flights: seat allocation by priority rather than price, quotas, booking windows, no-shows and go-shows, and one policy layer across all of it. What is FIFO travel management software?

Software that books and governs fly-in fly-out workforce travel against rosters: self-service booking within travel-group rules, schedule management for different travel groups, priority and quotas when demand exceeds seats, go-show refill of freed seats, and accommodation. UnityTrip is FIFO travel management software built the way an airline runs its own operation.

How do you manage zero-fare employee travel on leased aircraft?

A leased or owned aircraft seat has no fare, so price cannot ration demand. The policy has to: a priority matrix ranks passenger types and trip reasons, quotas cap bookings per period, and booking windows and penalty points shape behaviour. UnityTrip executes that policy deterministically at booking, and the free Leased Travel Policy Builder lets you write one in about five minutes.

How do you allocate seats on company aircraft?

By entitlement rather than price. A traveller's grade and policy group set what they are entitled to, a priority matrix decides who is displaced when a flight is oversubscribed, quotas limit how often a seat can be used, and go-show automation refills seats freed by no-shows. Can employees self-book FIFO flights?

Yes. Travellers book their own seats through self-service booking within the rules of their travel group, and the policy engine approves, queues or declines at the point of booking. Travel teams keep schedule management for the groups they run instead of handling every request by email.

Can commercial and charter flights be booked together?

Yes. A commercial leg, a chartered or leased flight, a crew boat and ground transport can be booked as one multi-leg journey under one PNR and one policy engine, so the record, the approval and the cost allocation are one.

What software manages crew change travel?

Crew change management software plans the rotation between shore and vessel as one governed journey: flight to port, crew boat or helicopter, ground transport and accommodation, with sail periods, per-sailing quotas and a priority matrix. How does UnityTrip enforce travel policy?

UnityTrip includes a configurable rule engine that enforces travel policy at the point of booking — not after the fact. Rules reflect how each organisation actually operates: approval workflows, spend limits, preferred suppliers, booking windows and role-based permissions can all be configured without custom code.

Does UnityTrip integrate with HR, finance and ERP systems such as SAP?

Yes. UnityTrip connects to HR, finance and ERP systems via a change-feed pattern that avoids polling and tight coupling. Integrations in production include SAP (bidirectional, over RFC), Thomalex for commercial flight content and Elina PMS for accommodation. Is UnityTrip available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace?

Yes. UnityTrip is available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace as a SaaS subscription, with a free trial. A purchase bills through the customer's existing Microsoft agreement and can count against a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC). It is hosted on Microsoft Azure and built to enterprise security and compliance standards.

Who founded UnityTrip?

UnityTrip was co-founded by Neil Middleton (Co-founder and CEO), who built and exited the previous generation of regional-airline operational software; Benjamin Kappel (Co-founder and Principal Architect), who designed its distributed, event-sourced architecture; and Dr Cindy de Villiers (Co-founder, Business Development and Investor Relations). The platform addresses a gap they observed directly: the tools available to complex-operations organisations were either generic corporate travel systems that could not handle field complexity, or bespoke internal builds that could not be maintained at scale.
